South Chilcotin Mountains

The South Chilcotin Mountains are located one hundred kilometres north of Whistler, and is British Columbia's newest provincial park. The 72,000-hectare park boasts some of the best backcountry hiking and biking in BC. Beautiful wildflower meadows, mountain goats, grizzly bears, big horn sheep, humming birds and crystal clear alpine lakes are found throughout the park - making it a true ecological and recreational wonder.

Tyax Air's de Havilland Beaver floatplane flies you over the awe-inspiring volcanic and mineral rich mountains that are boarded to the west by the Massive Glacier Fields of the Coastal Mountain Range and to the east by the Mighty Fraser River Grasslands. Dubbed the "Rain shadow Wilderness" for its dry climate, this area contains many broad alpine valleys and a very rich biodiversity.
